A Distributed Scheme for Voltage and Frequency Control and Power Sharing in Inverter-Based Microgrids

Grid-forming inverter-based autonomous microgrids present new operational challenges as the stabilizing rotational inertia of synchronous machines is absent. The design efficient control policies for grid-forming inverters is, however, a nontrivial problem where multiple performance objectives need to be satisfied, including voltage/frequency regulation, current limiting capabilities, and active power sharing scalable operation. We propose, in this article, novel architecture frequency voltage control, which allows limitation via an inner loop, distributed secondary policy, scalability by satisfying passivity property. In particular, controller employs inverter output angle provide droop-like improves its stability properties. This also us incorporate policy we analytical result, takes line conductances into account (in contrast lossless assumptions literature). distinctive feature scheme that it has double-loop structure uses dc feedback implement power-balancing strategy improve performance. illustrated simulations with detailed nonlinear models realistic setting.
